Spring Seminars
Double Box !!
If your dog has completed 1 jump skills or started sequencing, if you missed this with your dog and are now doing more handling, or if you are experienced and heading into "trail season" this seminar is a must! Double Box is the key to the understanding of handling cues. For both the handler and the dog you will learn which way to turn the dog to get the most efficient path on course, how to avoid off courses, and learn the appropriate timing of your handling cues. This seminar will cover Front Crosses, Rear Crosses, Serpentines, Threadles, 270s, lead out pivots, and more. If you have already taken a double box seminar with your dog, this seminar will take you to the next level of phenomenal handling and teamwork with your dog. Dogs must have jump skill understanding.

Do you have a new puppy or young dog and interested in competing in agility?
Join us for a day pack full of information and training for your agility dog!
This clinic will focus on the tools you will need for an amazing agility career. Learn the foundation skills based on Susan Garrett's Say Yes! training method for your pup, to be both a great family pet and future performance team. We'll introduce and work through Crate Games, ItsYerChoice games for impulse control, body awareness, recall work, shaping skills, building drive and focus, obstacle foundation skills and handling foundation skills! There will be some lecture/discussion on problem solving in addition to getting your pups out and working. If you have started your pup and have just begun the foundations program, we still welcome you! We can work the dog at a higher level and it will be great for the new trainers to see the future….

HELP! My dog is shy or worried around .......
This class is geared to work with dogs that may be shy around people or other dogs, may be more likely to run away or get stressed in the agility ring when new people and situations are presented. Help your dog learn to be confident and work through distractions. You may have a brilliant agility dog, but behaviors can sometimes present a barrier. This is an opportunity to work with your dog in a controlled environment to build confidence and give you a training plan for building more confidence in your agility dog. Foundation Transitions
For dogs that have completed Foundations level 2 or permission from the instructor. The baby dogs are growing up! Here are your 'next steps' for your agility training. We will build upon what we have trained to date and get into more jump skill , handling and equipment familiarization. This class is your fundamentals for an amazing agility career. Skills will be taught through motivational games.
Class will be held in the Dal Dome weather permitting!

Transitions- Balance and Timing
This class is for all handling teams that are currently sequencing at least 6-8 obstacles. Every turn on course- post turn, FC/RC, Serps, threadles need a transition telling the dog a turn is coming. Giving your dog the right information at the right time. Does your dog ever knock bars? Go around jumps, go off course after a RC or FC? This class will work on Balancing the dogs between acceleration and deceleration, getting to positions and timing of turn cues to avoid knocked bars, collisions, and off courses and getting better turns on pinwheels and gradual turns on course, Be the handler your dog wants you to be!

This class will need permission from instructor. For teams working at the master/excellent level -

Advanced Handling- Beyond the "Comfort zone"
This class is geared for advanced level dogs that are working toward better handling execution in addition to working out of the comfort zone with harder challenges on course. . This class is not appropriate for dogs that have not started competing. Dogs must have full understanding off all equipment including contacts and weaves.

A-Z Handling
This class is for dogs that are new to the handling system OR young dogs that are sequencing 6-8 obstacles. We will focus on understanding of handling cues and what works best for your dog. Handling Toolbox
This class will focus on teaching the dogs better understanding of all handling cues while continuing to build drive and independence on driving their line. Dogs will be worked on shorter sequences to allow focus on the skill. Dos must have understanding of jumps and tunnels

Coursework for Novice level teams
While we will continue to look at the best handling options and delivering key information to your dog , we will put it together in longer, course like sequences. Classmates will help provide pressure for your dog and trial like environment to prepare your dog for their show career. This class will be motivational for the handlers and the dogs with frequent rewards for the dog and the handlers!

Contacts and Weaves
This class will focus on finishing your contact and weave pole training and for those that have just completed the training , proofing and adding in some handling.

Drive the Line
For dogs that have completed their 1 jump training and have taken Young dog skills and drills or any dog that needs more independence on lines while running sequencings. Building drive for the line so that you are not "babysitting" the obstacles. We will focus on good jumping skills, independence on equipment and basic handling concepts.

Young Dog Skills and Drills
Looking for a day to get out and train? This class will allow you to get out and work on jump skills, equipment familiarization, and handling drills. Dogs will be working in groups. Dogs must be under control off leash.

For dogs that have attended Puppy clinic or have started foundation training. Peak Performance - Balancing act
. . Class will start with a group warm up to get us at "Peak Performance" for our runs. We will continue to review footwork drills, but now it's time to really put it into play on course. Sequences will still be shorter to allow for peak performance from the handler. Paying attention to the details of each step you take. The focus for this session will be balancing the dogs drive for lines and collection cues.
This class is appropriate even if you aren't competing at a high level. It is designed to help you easily get around course and use your body to its full potential.

Masters Handling- National/International level competition

TTP- Turns Timing and Positions- Bring IT!
We will be turning up the heat this session with our handling - finessing the handling skills to give the best information to our dogs on course. Do you ever feel like you are in the right spot, but in reality you were out of position? Or does your mind say turn this way and your body says turn that way? Do you struggle with timing of cues and telling your dog to turn or collect or giving your dog the appropriate information? Does your dog ever go off course, cut behind you, or stop and just stare at you? This class will focus on giving your dog the right cues and the right time in addition to helping the "Turn Challenged" handlers become more comfortable and quicker at the information they are giving the dogs. Dogs must have full understanding off all equipment including contacts and weaves.

Young Dog Skills and Drills
This class is geared toward working the dogs on a variety of skills during class. Focus will be on continuing 1 jump understanding along with transitioning to short sequencing. Equipment familiarizations and weave pole skills. Multiple dogs will be working at the same time providing a distracting environment in preparation for their show career.
Dates: 2/5 and 2/19 1030-12pm

Novice Handling
Handling for novice level dogs. Weave pole and contact understanding required. This class is tentative . Please email me if you are interested. This class will be held on the weekend and is an overflow class if the week night class do not fill
